Help with the HTC S620 (Tmobile Dash)?
I've been having some problems with this phone lately that I didn't have in the beginning. I bought this phone off of someone and it worked good and all (at first). But now something is wrong with the battery or I dont know what. The phone could be fully charged and if i am texting a moderately long test maybe a full page or 2, or if im checking pics or cam, it turns off on me. I can't turn it on right away because it turns off again as if the battery was drained instantly. I let it sit for a few min and turn it on and it turns on with like 80 or 70% battery life. Sometimes it surprisingly says 0% battery life, the only way to turn it back on is hooking it back up on the charger and turning it on then. It is very annoying I can't make calls because it turns off while talking. I always check for the applications that are running and i stop them all etc.. But this still happens.. What can be wrong?
It seems like a cheap battery to me. Can you confirm that your battery is an OEM [the same one that comes from the factory] or genuine replacement from HTC? If it is a real battery, then it could be that the battery is getting too old. After all, the phone has been out for about two years now, so maybe the battery needs to be replaced.
Rechargeable batteries have an unfortunate effect of suddenly dropping in voltage when they run low, so that could explain why it suddenly dies on you. That still doesn't fully make sense, because phone manufacturers almost always warn you of a low battery before the phone fully dies.
